KOSH is a series of handcrafted coasters that blend traditional Indian craft with a modern aesthetic. Each piece functions not only as a utility item but as a canvas of cultural expression. It is inspired by the organic patterns of tree trunks and brought to life through Thathera, a heritage metal craft from Punjab.
(BRIEF)
Design a merchandise or series of items that:
- Functions as a storage tray, box, or container
-Reflects Indian culture using a local craft or material
- Maintains a contemporary look and feel
Inspiration & Craft merges the organic resilience of tree rings with the UNESCO-recognized Thathera craft. Hand-hammered by artisans in Punjab, the brass surface features a burnt finish that mimics the texture of aged wood. This design recontextualizes a traditional heritage technique into a contemporary form, symbolizing rootedness and life.
